I made about three posts to their site and after a long delay in reviewing them they deleted them because it didn't fit their agenda.

They took it a step further by making an example of me and it started a floodgate of horrible stories and the cursewords towards me and my kind.

I suppose being in the states means we see a lot less of it (most of these sound like they are in the UK) but I still have never witnessed any of these terrible things (and they are indeed terrible). I think if I were to have seen this in school or anywhere for that matter we would have stomped the piss out of the guy after the shock wore off.

Of course they will not allow a response other than directly to them and they will only reply from their website's soapbox. I think its sad and self limiting that they can't fathom a perspective outside their own. They sure curse a lot.

That particular post has nothing to do with fat or size, and I don't see its relevance to its site (although the only one who can really make that judgment is Chris). In this case, she is right--catcalling, dirty comments, groping and other really unwanted attention, etc are not an uncommon part of women's lives, particularly the young ones. Sorry.

Interestingly, the first time I got groped, my mother's reaction was that it was just normal and I better learn to deal with it and just not put myself in a situation where I'd be physically alone with a man. *shrug*

I wonder if I am living in a vacuum or something because I have never seen it in real life. Not even when I am surrounded by people in DC getting on the subways, trains, etc. I have never witnessed this kind of treatment because I think I would go manson on the guy and I think many others would too.
If my daughter or wife told me a guy just groped them they know its a death sentance for him. We have that sworn agreement in our house that if something like that happens there is no tolorance and nether legal action or prison matter.

I am not a religious person but I do remember an old phrase that said "he that does not provide for his family denies his faith and is worse than an infidal" or something. Not cool letting your wife and family violated. F-that. I really feel for those women out there that don't have family to back them up.

They don't want anyone to make sense or shake their little digital uptopia so they ban anyone with a perspective other than their own. I emailed them directly and told them I didn't have any ill will towards them and that I thought it was very selective and simplistic for them to edit and paste key parts of my post while breathing infered judgements to my character.

If any of these women really knew the real me they would be sickened by the way this rant went but I understand they need a whipping post or pariah to blame for all their ills and woes. I suppose being bullied in school would have entitled me to acting a certain way but I grew up and moved on.

She puts this as if she or women were unique in being picked on and called names. If there's any actual difference, I'd say it'd be how much women and men choose to internalize it.

Her raising of hands is ridiculous. If I were to call for a raise of hands it would be: Since all of us grew up being picked on in one form or another, how many of us allowed that to hinder us? Okay. Now, how many of us fought past it and used it to make us stronger? That is LIFE! Life is full of challenges and people fighting to keep us down. We can whine and blame or we can overcome and use it to increase our resolve to do and be better.

I get what you are saying but you have to admit some of the crap these women went through is pretty horrible. At least with bullies you get the crap beat out of you but not raped.

I can't understand how some idiots yelling cat calls from a moving car is considered abuse. I have had some women do that to me a couple times and I took it as flattery and hoped they would slow down for a possible hook up.

Yeah, there are alot of whiners out there that need to get off their cross or at least put the next nail in their throats so we don't have to hear them anymore. There are people that survived much worse and moved on yet there will be others that can't. I never said it was fair and I sincerely feel sad for anyone unjustly treated this way but they have to realize that unless you have a time machine you can't change the past. I asked my wife last night because I really do care for all people and she told me that other than some catty comments from both genders she never endured any of these things. She told me the worst thing ever done to her was being thought of as being a snob because she has a slight hearing disorder and can't hear that well. She was not ignoring them, she simply could not hear them and yet they could not understand that.

She was also very good looking and this does not get you much popularity with the peers and boys are intimidated. Their loss for not asking her out because she told me she would have loved to go out so bad she would have said yes to almost anyone back then.

I will be extra aware of any weird stuff that happens in both their lives. I just hope they tell me the instant it happens because nothing is worse than finding out about it too late. My wife knows this and will sometimes not tell me that some dorks are kicking her seat at the movies because she knows I will do something to them. Its not tough talk because I really like people but its something I believe you have to do when put in those situations.

Markerbull, Kudos to you for your courage! Truth is, you cannot expect fair treatment from those miserable, whiny primadonnas!

I just read Sweet Machine's response (have to take a breather before the comments) and it's simply pathetic. So she got called names at school, and some men in her family called her fat. And then some morons have insulted her in the street. Well, get over it!

Everyone gets picked at at some point, it strengthens your character for Crissake. I was a skinny kid, but my granny was eternally worried that I would get fat, my parents scolded me everytime I was caught eating candy and my figure-skating coach yelled at me publicly and called me a lazy fat-ass all the time (and smacked me a couple of times too). Didn't do me any lasting harm though, and many kids in this world are far worse off.

If they really wanted to put their so called feminist ideals to some good use in this world they'd pressure politicians and governement officials to react and protest against those countries where women even today and at this very moment will be brutally killed by their fathers, brothers and husbands if they so much as show their faces in public. But I guess they are just too fat, lazy and egocentric to care about what any sane person would call real issues.

Btw Markerbull, some time ago KH run a thread where all the Shapelings were asked to introduce themselves and describe their home towns/Countries, and also to rate the place for 'fat friendliness'. The way they keep whining over supposedly ongoing brutal harrassmet you'd sort of expected to get to read an endless list of complaints about the horrors that they encounter in their daily lives. Well, not exactly! When you read that thread you get the impression that the worst that has happened to them in real life is lack of good shopping for plus-sizes and a too trend-conscious nightlife scene for 'fat comfort'. So go figure!
