Just send them off to a sweat shop for the summer in Haiti and tell everyone else they are off at a relatives house. I bet they will be thinner and less a pain in the ass when they get back. Good thing my kids are ok or they would be putting barbies together in a thatch hut for summer fun.
Remember when America had the draft? A lot of aimless 18-20 year old's (coincidently, my age group) came out of the service with more motivation, a skill, a basic knowledge of fitness (army PT tests) and a respect for elders.
You know how many people are surprised when i remind them that countries (which in the average American's eyes are seen as wussies) have conscription such as; Russia, Finland, Greece, Mexico, most of South America, Singapore, Malaysia, parts of Eastern Europe.

No kidding Nick. Now you get these poser clowns all full of tough talk saying they know how to shoot a weapon and do tactical missions without any military experience. Most people don't realize the rest of the world is not as lazy and apathetic as they think.
When I was in the Army I remember our drills telling us they couldn't hit us with an almost sad look on their faces. I would have been cool with it as long as I could hit back. We also couldn't kick anyone's ass for being stupid or lazy so those a-holes got to sham. Its sickening. The same is applied to our society. If some idiot were shove some old lady out of the way so he could get a seat on the subway he would have been f-dup 30 years ago but now if you kick Mr.Toughtalk's ass he will cry assault with dozens of supporting witnesses. Only here does this crap happen.

That toughguy syndrome happens in Ireland and England and France too. In fact, in my experience, in happens in England the most. Like twice as much as here.
England as a culture is terrified of everything, for some reason, so if someone acts tough, most people treat him as a dangerous tough guy. Even if he is a badly out of shape, chubby, 20-something (which most of these tough guys are), people will be afraid of him and let him push them around.
And they fight each other every so often because they all get plastered drunk every Thurs, Fri and Sat. Tvey have no technical skill and they have no endurance. Its pathethic enough to be funny.

Well, you can tell those folks from me that it kinda makes you see things differently when you've had a war fought on your own soil in not too distant memory. It's one thing to send young men overseas to fight, and quite another to have your children and womanfolk in harms way. For instance, over here the older generation usually loves it when it snows heavily - when they were kids/teens that meant the enemy planes couldn't fly in and bomb their homes, and you could get a good nights sleep.

hahahaha, and give the world the term "molotov cocktail" right?
Suomi.
Thank God for that Winter War, if it wasn't for it; Yugoslavia would have been under Soviet control.
